Premier is a Nepali international school, empowering children to become world-class leaders and change-makers locally and globally. Offering a full K–12 internationally recognized curriculum since 2008, Premier combines top-tier facilities, globally competitive programs, community engagement, and an easy transition for international students, providing families in Nepal a complete, future-ready education right here at home.
Premier is a privately owned, fully registered K–12 Nepali International School in Lalitpur, ranked “Bisista Shreni” by the government for consistently surpassing standard educational performance. Fully accredited to teach the IB Continuum programmes (IBPYP, IBMYP, IBDP), Premier is Nepal’s only IB Continuum School. International affiliations, including full membership with the ISF, further enrich students’ learning and global exposure.
Premier’s campus is an earthquake-resistant building, designed to meet international safety standards. The school conducts regular fire and earthquake drills, safety audits, and provides ongoing first aid and fire safety training for staff. These measures ensure preparedness for natural disasters and emergency situations, keeping students and staff secure at all times.
The International Baccalaureate (IB), founded in 1968, is one of the world’s most reputable school programs, recognized in over 160 countries and preferred by top universities. It provides a balanced education that develops academic skills, creativity, and global awareness, helping students grow into confident, well-rounded learners ready for the future.
A school authorized to offer any one of the four IB programmes (IBPYP, IBMYP, IBDP & IBCP) is an IB World School, while an IB Continuum school must be authorized to offer at least three of the four challenging programmes, ensuring a continuity of the IB framework for students aged 3 to 19. There are 6,026 IB World Schools in 160 countries globally, with 653 of them (about 10.83%) being IB Continuum Schools.
Students receive personalized academic support to help them succeed, whether they are transferring from another school or facing challenges in a subject. Programs such as Learning Support, Language Support, and before or after-school guidance provide targeted help, ensuring every student builds the skills, confidence, and understanding needed to thrive in the IB curriculum.
Students are assessed continuously through a mix of formative and summative methods, including projects, quizzes, reflections, and presentations. Grades 6 – 10 also have quarterly examinations to monitor progress. In Grade 8, students take the PSAT 8 standardized exam alongside the Nepal government-mandated BLE exam. Grade 10 students appear for the SEE exam, while Grade 12 students take either the IBDP exams or the NEB exams, depending on their programme. Regular feedback, parent-teacher conferences, and individualized support ensure that all learners understand their progress, identify areas for improvement, and receive guidance to reach their full potential.
Our admission process follows two simple steps; submission of application form, and interaction with parents & student readiness observation. Admissions are rolling in nature, allowing applications throughout the year as long as seats are available. For planning purposes, the academic year for Grades K–10 begins in April, while Grades 11 and 12 (IB Diploma and NEB programs) start in August. This flexible approach ensures that families can apply at any time while still aligning with the school’s annual calendar.
A Student Readiness Observation is an age-appropriate process that may include some reading and writing tasks along with interactive activities. It is not an exam used to select or reject a child. The purpose is to understand the child’s learning profile and developmental readiness, ensuring the school is well prepared to provide appropriate support and a smooth transition for the child.
Admission to each grade level at Premier International IB Continuum School is based on the child’s age as of the start of the academic year. For example, children entering Grade 1 (UK Year-2) should typically be 6 years old, while subsequent grades follow standard age-grade norms. The admissions team can provide guidance for children who may be slightly older or younger than the typical age for a grade, ensuring the best fit for their learning and development.
While full boarding facilities are not currently available, the school offers an optional after-school day boarding program. This program takes a holistic approach, combining academic support, sports, arts, and life-skills activities within a mixed-age social setting.
The school is open Sunday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Parents are welcome to visit for admission inquiries, guided campus tours, and personalized counseling with the admissions team.
Student wellness is a core focus at Premier. The school counseling team supports social, emotional, and behavioral development through one-on-one sessions, group workshops, and proactive guidance. Mindfulness, meditation, and community service that nurtures gratitude and a sense of purpose, along with reflection activities are part of daily routines. Furthermore, student-led well-being initiatives like Kindness Week, foster positivity and resilience, creating a safe and supportive environment for all learners.
Premier has a dedicated University Guidance Counseling (UGC) team that works with students through scheduled group and one-on-one sessions, helping them explore careers, assess interests, and plan their academic pathways. Students start profile building from Grade 8 and receive targeted support for university applications locally and internationally. The UGC team leverages tools like Maia Learning, hosts university fairs with direct interactions with university representatives, and organizes university-led masterclasses. Premier is also a registered SAT test center, offering PSAT and SAT prep classes to ensure students are fully prepared for higher education opportunities worldwide.
Hot school meals are provided to all students. Early Years through Grade 1 receive breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack. Grades 2–10 have lunch and an afternoon snack, with vegetarian and non-vegetarian options served at lunch. Grades 11–12 can access the school café, using their ID cards to pay for meals as needed, meanwhile, learning budgeting and money management skills.
