Premier International IB Continuum School marked a historic milestone in Nepal’s education landscape by becoming the first school to host a TEDx event, TEDx Premier Intl School, under the theme “Greatness Begins Here.” The event brought together young voices and visionary leaders to celebrate ideas, innovation, and the spirit of global citizenship.
Student Voices at the Forefront
The event featured six student speakers representing all three IB Continuum programs, PYP, MYP, and IBDP. Darshaneeka Neupane (PYP 5), Jyotsana Khadka (MYP 1), Aayushman Agrawal (MYP 3), Saurya Shrestha (Grade 10), Mantra Pokharel (Grade 10), and Hriddhima Agrawal (IBDP 1) shared personal stories of courage, empathy, belonging, and perseverance. Through their talks, they demonstrated how greatness can begin with small, everyday actions that inspire others.
Insights from Visionary Leaders
Guest speakers added depth and perspective from a wide range of fields. Honourable Mr. Chiribabu Maharjan, Mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City, Ms. Sugarika KC, media personality and trainer, Dr. Sunita Ghimire Gautam, molecular biologist and 2024 OWSD Early Career Fellow, Mr. Vikrant Pandey, social entrepreneur and founder of Fightback Nepal, and Mr. Ujaya Shakya, founder of Outreach Nepal and First Vice President of the Advertising Association of Nepal, shared insights on civic leadership, women’s empowerment, scientific innovation, storytelling, and social entrepreneurship. Each talk highlighted how purpose-driven work can create meaningful impact in communities.
